WHAT ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS?

Wafer-thin shells. Whole-smile results.

A porcelain veneer is a wafer-thin ceramic shell, custom-made to fit the front of your tooth. Unlike bonding, each veneer is designed and fired in a lab before it’s fitted.

Porcelain is naturally resistant to staining and wear, which is why it’s often considered the gold-standard cosmetic option. Most patients need only minimal tooth preparation, often as little as 0.5mm of enamel.

Because each veneer is individually planned and lab-made, the process takes longer than composite bonding — the trade-off is a stronger, more durable result built to last.
Typically 2–3 visits over 2–4 weeks
Results are individual. A clinical assessment will confirm suitability.
WHAT CAN VENEERS FIX?

Porcelain veneers can transform all of these

Heavily stained or discoloured teeth

Internal staining from tetracycline, fluorosis or ageing doesn't always respond to whitening. Porcelain masks the discolouration completely, giving you a bright, even shade.

Multiple teeth needing a uniform smile

Planning a full smile makeover? Veneers are designed as a set, so every tooth matches in shape, size and shade.

Worn or chipped edges from years of wear

Grinding and age can leave teeth shorter or rougher-edged than they used to be. Veneers rebuild the length and smooth the edge in one precise shell.

Gaps or minor misalignment without braces

Small gaps and slightly rotated teeth can often be closed cosmetically with veneers, without months of orthodontic treatment.

Ageing or discoloured bonding and old veneers

If previous bonding has yellowed or chipped, or older veneers no longer match, porcelain veneers offer a longer-lasting replacement.

Wanting a complete smile transformation

For patients who've tried whitening or bonding and want the most durable, natural-looking option available, porcelain veneers are built for the long term.

WHAT TO EXPECT

From first consultation to finished smile — here's how it works

Consultation & Smile Design

We assess your teeth, talk through your goals, and give you an honest recommendation — including whether veneers are the right fit for you.

Preparation & Digital Impressions

We prepare your teeth with minimal, precise reshaping, then take a digital scan or impression and select your exact shade together, before leaving.

Custom Lab Fabrication

Your veneers are hand-crafted by a dental technician over the following two to three weeks, while temporary veneers protect your smile.

Fitting & Final Check

Once your veneers arrive, we check the fit, shade and bite carefully before bonding them in place, then polish to a natural finish.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Everything you want to know about veneers

With good care, porcelain veneers typically last 10 years or more, though this varies depending on your oral hygiene and habits like teeth grinding. Your dentist will give you a clearer expected lifespan at your consultation.

No — because a small amount of enamel is removed to fit them, veneers aren't reversible. Once prepared, your tooth will always need a veneer or similar covering to look and feel right.

Porcelain veneers resist staining better than natural enamel, but the cement line at the edge can still pick up staining over time. Composite veneers are more porous and stain more easily than porcelain.

Porcelain veneers usually take 2 to 3 appointments — consultation, preparation and fitting. Composite veneers can often be completed in a single visit.

Cost depends on the material used and how many teeth are involved. We'll give you a clear, itemised quote after your consultation, with no obligation to proceed.
